What’s up!?! Happy Wednesday!
I hope you are having a great week and a great March!
We put an offer in on a house and so the Millers are busy over here! We haven’t ever owned a home so this is all new to us! We’re working with a great realtor/lender/etc team and so excited to get moved in at the end of the month!
On top of that, I’ve been onboarding some new clients (retainers and consulting) so it’s been busy over here!
The other day, I was chatting with a new client about their SEO strategy, and they asked a great question: What’s the easiest way to see results quickly?
It got me thinking. So many businesses focus on creating new content when some of the biggest traffic wins come from optimizing what you already have. I’ve seen sites get massive traffic boosts just by tweaking and improving existing content.
So if you’re looking for ways to increase your traffic without writing a bunch of new content, keep reading!

Struggling to get more traffic without writing new content?
Good news: You don’t have to start from scratch!
Some of the biggest traffic wins come from optimizing what you already have. Here are three powerful tactics to boost traffic without writing a single new post.
1. Find low hanging keywords in Google Search Console
Most websites have hidden traffic opportunities sitting on page 2-4 of Google search results. These are keywords you're already ranking for, but not quite on page 1. Here’s how to find and optimize them step by step:
Step 1: Identify Your Best Opportunities
Log into Google Search Console → Click Performance → Click Pages.
Set the date range to last 3 months for better trends.
Click on the Queries tab and filter by Position 11-40.
Sort by Impressions to find keywords getting lots of searches but low clicks.
Step 2: Optimize Your Content for These Keywords
Update headings and subheadings: Ensure your target keywords appear naturally.
Expand and improve the content: Answer the user’s search intent more thoroughly.
Enhance on-page SEO: Add images, videos, and bullet points to increase dwell time.
Optimize your title and meta description: Make them more engaging to improve click-through rate (CTR).
2. Refresh and repurpose old content
Google loves fresh content. Instead of writing a new post, take an old post that’s losing traffic and update it:
Step 1: Find Posts to Refresh
In Google Analytics, check the last 6-12 months for pages with declining traffic.
In Google Search Console, look for posts that have lost impressions and clicks.
Step 2: Update and Improve Content
Update stats and references: Make sure all information is current.
Add new sections or insights: Answer any gaps in the content.
Improve readability: Break up long paragraphs, add more bullet points, and use simpler language.
Add internal links: Link to newer, related content to strengthen SEO signals.
Repurpose into other formats: Turn it into a Twitter thread, LinkedIn post, infographic, or short-form video.
3. Internal linking for the win
A strong internal linking strategy can significantly improve rankings by distributing authority across your site. Here’s how to do it effectively:
Step 1: Find High-Authority Pages on Your Site
Use Google Search Console to find your top-performing pages.
Check for pages with high backlinks and engagement metrics (via Ahrefs, Semrush, or Google Analytics).
Step 2: Link to Lower-Performing Pages
Identify relevant pages that are struggling to rank.
Use natural anchor text that includes your target keywords.
Make sure every important blog post links to at least 3-5 other posts.
Step 3: Create Topic Clusters
Group related posts together under pillar content.
Use internal links to connect blog posts, case studies, and service pages.
The result?
You’ll get more visibility, higher rankings, and increased traffic. All without writing a single new piece of content!
